Alerts: install in OBS Studio

Follower, Subscriber and Donation videos for your alert box.

In OBS Studio: Works as delivered

Same guide for Streamlabs Desktop

01Put the videos in your alert box

  1. Alerts are played by your alert service (Streamlabs or StreamElements), not by OBS itself. Open its alert box settings on its website.
  2. For each alert type (Follow, Subscription, Donation), replace the image or video with the NanoCrea .webm of your language (07_ALERTS, folders EN, FR, DE, DA).
  3. Set the alert duration to 8 seconds, the length of the videos.
  4. Copy the alert box URL, then in OBS: + under Sources, Browser, paste the URL, width 1920, height 1080.
  5. Send a test alert from the service: it must play over your scene with its transparency.

02Put the viewer name on the alert

  1. The long bar of each NanoCrea alert is the place for the viewer name. The alert video carries no text of its own there.
  2. In the settings of the alert, keep the message with the name variable of your alert tool (for example {name} is followed!) and set the text layout over the image, so the text sits on the bar.
  3. The alert videos have no sound: pick the sound in the settings of the alert, then send a test alert.

Menus are named as in the English version of the software. Checked on 23/10/2026 with Streamlabs Desktop 1.20.9 and OBS Studio 30.1.2 (Windows).

If something goes wrong

The animation has a black background

Use the .webm file (it carries the transparency) and untick the hardware decoding option of the source.

The alert does not show or shows a black box

Check that the alert box source covers 1920x1080, that the alert uses the .webm file (not the .png) and that its duration is 8 seconds. In OBS Studio, refresh the Browser source (Properties, Refresh cache of current page).

The alert or the stinger makes no sound

That is expected: NanoCrea alerts and stingers are silent videos. Pick a sound in the settings of each alert of your alert tool. In OBS Studio, tick Control audio via OBS on the Browser source of the alert box, then check its volume in the Audio Mixer.
